Plot

Main Plot by Oddi
"We thought the worst was over.
We were so wrong.

It took maybe five years for the Precursors to rebuild their world in the Anteverse.
At least, that's how long it took on our side. God only knows how time passes there. We didn't expect to
see their creations again. The Kaiju had become a distant memory, their remains scattered about our world like
cherry blossoms in the wind. By 2030, everyone just assumed their normal lives. It was all back to normal.
The 9 to 5, traffic jams, world leaders becoming enemies after joining up for the Pan Pacific Defense Corps.
People became people again, no longer ruled by the threat of constant attack. It was good.

Then a breach opened above the Grand Canyon. There was a total of four people who knew what a breach looked
like, and two of us were dead. So when the tourists saw the light show above them, they only assumed it was some
kind of cosmic happenstance. An atmospheric event, perhaps. About five minutes after the breach formed, it dropped
a Kaiju on them before vanishing completely. It was code-named Warmonger, and it was small compared to other
Category Twos. Even then, without any jaegers to stop it, it took four days for nuclear weapons to bring it down.
It's not the Grand Canyon anymore. It's a Kaiju graveyard.

It marked the return of the Jaeger.

Shatterdomes were constructed all over the world for the next two years, built to house the newest wave
of Jaegers. The new ones are advanced, with capabilities never seen in any of the previous generations. New armor
made from synthesized Kaiju skin. Looks like metal. Tougher than titanium. There's new weapons, too. Electric, nuclear,
even some that came right out of Star Trek: Photon. And not a single one of them is digital.

At this time, we don't have a specific means of defense against the Kaiju beyond the Jaeger program. We have no offense.
We can't stop the breaches from opening, and we can't get to them before they close. The scientists are looking for ways
to open our own bridges, this time to the Anteverse. Things aren't looking good.

You're here because you want to die in a Jaeger. That's how it is now: you fight until something kills you, and that
something is a Kaiju. A wise man once told me: 'The world is ending. So where would you rather die: here, or in a Jaeger?'

I can tell you, my brother Yancy would never have chosen anywhere else."

Site Rules (READ BEFORE POSTING!) by Oddi
Hello there, and welcome to FFTB! Thank you so much for joining us!

Before you start posting, you should be aware of the rules we have set for the site. Let's get to those now!

General Rules

Rule Number One:
Respect other users. Any fights will be sorted out by moderators or administrators.

Rule Number Two:
The Admin's word is law. We work hard to create a site for everyone,
so what we say goes.

Rule Number Three:
Racism, Sexism, Homophobic Comments, ETC are not allowed.
We appreciate that there are opinions you have, but they should be kept to yourself.
Any of these will warrant a board warning, and if it persists we may choose to
remove you from the site entirely.

Rule Number Four:
Excessive swearing is not allowed. Note that I said
'excessive'. Swearing in itself is fine, but for the love of all
that is holy, swear properly.

Rule Number Five:
We don't care how you write. When I'm not doing OFFICIAL MOD THINGS i write a lot like
this because i'm not obligated to give a shit about my spelling and grammar. But
make sure your writing is understandable. See rule two in the Role-Playing
section for more info.

Role-Play Rules

Rule Number One:
Don't godmod. Godmodding is when you take control of another person's character without
permission. It's very annoying, and to some it can even be offensive. Please don't.

Rule Number Two:
When you're role-playing, it's generally considered good form to write like you would
if you were writing a book. We aren't asking for perfect spelling and grammar, but
please do your best!

Rule Number Three:
Do your best to keep to your character. That being said, try not to create Mary-Stu or
Gary-Stu characters! These are characters who are amazing at everything, who have a wildly
implausible backstory (a little implausibility is okay. We're roleplaying giant robots
fighting giant monsters, not 18th century France.) and typically have all the lovely
ladies/manlies falling over themselves to get to this character. Please don't.

Rule Number Four:
Respect the plot. We worked very hard to create a storyline for you to enjoy, so
it's only natural that we request for you to stick to it. We may add a category for
other Role-Plays later on, but for now just stick to ours.

Rule Number Five:
There's not a word limit on our site, but we strive for semi-literate posts. We know this
this isn't always possible. So write as much as you can without straining yourself! The
goal here is to have fun!
